The 404s are a touring group of improv performers based in Alberta, Canada.
Presenting their own brand of improv comedy at events across Canada and in the United States,
they combine heavy audience participation with their own witty charm, and leave every show with a
bloody trail of busted guts and teary eyes in their wake.
It all started in 1998 when Mark Nguyen, inspired by TV improv shows like Whose Line is It Anyway?,
began playing improv games with his friends at their university animation club. Before they knew it, they were
performing whole shows under the delusion they were actually good at it. Mixing games familiar to Whose Line?
fans with other classic improv games and a few handles of their own devising, they figured they were doing
something right when they were asked to perform return engagements everywhere they went.
By 2003, the performers of The 404s had packed shows in Vancouver, Seattle and Toronto, as well
as their home cities of Edmonton and Calgary. It was then that they decided to create a formal improv group,
and give their work an identity with which to forge ahead to new levels of humour and horror. And so The 404s
were born; and whatever they may lack in professionalism, they make up with sheer lunacy.
Enough talk! If you want to really know what The 404s can do, catch (or book!) one of our public, private, or corporate shows.
You'll be sorry you did, in the best way possible. |
